Yoga Therapy

“Yoga Therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalised assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management and yoga practices for individuals and small groups.” - IAYT

With a background in nursing and a passion for yoga as a practice for healing, it has been a natural progression for Jodi to further train to become a Yoga Therapist. Whilst yoga is inherently transformative, a specific therapeutic focus is intended to alleviate suffering whilst nurturing and integrating the whole self. Our bodies are encoded with wellness and this approach of focusing on all aspects of our being; physical, energetic, psychological and emotional, helps us to tap into the intelligence of our being and support us on our journey to wellness and wholeness.

Yoga Therapy is suitable for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

How it Works.

  • A minimum of three sessions.

  • Prior to the first session you will be sent a health information form to be completed and returned 24 hours prior to said session.

  • Session 1 - 90 minutes to discuss further the health form information and carry out a postural, moving and breathing assessment.

  • A short sequence of relevant techniques, including movement, breath work and meditation will be designed to address your specific needs and this will be scribed for the practice to be continued at home.

  • Follow up sessions - 60 minutes. A more practical focus, reviewing and adjusting the tailored programme in accordance with identified needs.
